As James Comey prepared to take the stand Thursday, the internet was doing what it does best – trolling. The former FBI director released his prepared remarks Wednesday afternoon, sparking some witty reactions on Twitter and other forms of social media.

Comey was set to testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee Thursday regarding his relationship with the president before his firing, the investigation into possible Russian collusion with the Trump administration and other pertinent issues. In his prepared remarks, Comey touched on a number of those things, which Twitter promptly ran with.

#ComeyDay began trending Thursday morning as the nation prepared to watch one of the year’s most anticipated political events. Rules for drinking games to play during the testimony proliferated and employees joked about skipping out on work to ensure they’d be able to watch the hearing.

“Is Beyonce doing the Comey hearing halftime show or are we stuck with goddamn Coldplay again?” one user wrote.

One of the most talked about parts of Comey’s testimony on social media? The mysterious reference to “that thing.”

“[Trump]… added, ‘Because I have been very loyal to you, very loyal; we had that thing, you know,’” Comey said in the statement. “I did not reply or ask him what he meant by ‘that thing.’”

Other social media users were quick to troll the portions of the statement about Trump’s references to “loyalty.”

“The president said, ‘I need loyalty, I expect loyalty,’” Comey’s testimony said. “I didn’t move, speak, or change my facial expression in any way during the awkward silence that followed. We simply looked at each other in silence.”

Numerous users posted the famous Carrie Bradshaw of Sex and the City meme featuring Bradshaw writing her column in front of her laptop with the words: “He wanted loyalty, but all I could promise was honesty.”

“So Comey told Jeff Sessions he didn’t want to be alone with Trump. Women across the country can relate,” Rep. Maxine Waters tweeted.

Some users changed the testimony entirely—with hilarious results.

“A few moments later, the President said, ‘I need loyalty, I expect loyalty,’” one Twitter user wrote. “I didn’t move, speak or change my facial expression in any way during the awkward silence that followed. We simply looked at each other in silence. It was then that I noticed I was standing on top of a giant “X” mark on the ground and noticed a Grand Piano dangling from a rope several feet about me, while Trump held a pair of scissors. It was then that I slid the giant “X” mark on the ground to Trump’s feet so that when he cut the rope, the piano fell on him instead. When he emerged from the wreck, piano keys had replaced his teeth. He then played “Those Enduring Young Charms” from his piano teeth, which triggered a bomb that was embedded in the piano.”
