Marvel directors are something else. They all seem to be the best of friends and praise each other’s cinematic efforts every chance they get.

“Thor: Ragnarok” director Taika Waititi and “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” director James Gunn are the perfect examples to this.

After seeing the new trailer for “Thor: Ragnarok,” Gunn raved about it on Twitter.

Coming from the genius behind the surprise Marvel hit “Guardians of the Galaxy,” it’s definitely high praise.

Waititi is known for his humor, and his trademark style will definitely be featured heavily in the new film. Even the usually serious Heimdall (Idris Elba) will surprise fans this time around with some humorous moments.

Elba told Digital Spy that he will have a “funnier tone” in the upcoming film. "Heimdall isn’t funny. You haven’t heard Heimdall laugh, or crack too many jokes,” he said. “But Taika, the director, has done a really amazing job of making all the characters have a bit of a funny moment, and I’m not spared.”

Earlier, Waititi told The Guardian that it has always been his dream to direct a Marvel film. So when “Thor: Ragnarok” was offered to him, it was a dream come true. Waititi revealed that he definitely infused his style into the film. “If someone asked, ‘What are your films like?’ the best I can come up with is that they’re, like, a fine balance between comedy and drama. And they deal mainly with the clumsiness of humanity,” he said.

“With ‘Thor,’ I’m trying not to do any other things,” he further explained. “There’d be nothing worse than the film not being as good as I think it’s going to be because I didn’t spend enough time on it. I don’t want my focus pulled away, as it usually is.”

“Thor: Ragnarok” will be released on Nov. 3.
