It was announced Thursday that Glee's Jane Lynch has been tapped to host the Emmy awards this year.

The 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards will air live from Los Angeles in September

Lynch is no stranger to the Emmy Awards. Last year she won an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy for her role on Glee. Lynch plays the role of Sue Sylvester on FOX's hit show.

When accepting her award, Lynch joked, I love you. You're young and wonderful. You're fresh-faced, and when I'm not seething with jealousy I'm so proud of you.

Glee also won an award for director Ryan Murphy that night.

I am tickled pink to be hosting the Primetime Emmys on FOX, Lynch said in a statement. I'm looking forward to singing, dancing and sporting my finest tracksuit.

Executive producer of the awards, Mark Burnett, said via the Los Angeles Times that Lynch was my first, and only, choice as the host for this year's Primetime Emmys, and I'm glad she said yes,

Last year's host was Jimmy Fallon who with the help of the Glee cast and Kate Gosselin, Tina Fey, Jon Hamm and Betty White kicked the show off.
