Jane the Virgin
Xo (Andrea Navedo) from “Jane the Virgin” will have an exciting new storyline this Season 3. The CW

Xo Villanueva (Andrea Navedo) of “Jane the Virgin” faced a tough decision on Season 3 after getting pregnant, but she quickly decided to get an abortion because her mothering days have been over.

Xo wanted to focus on herself and her career for a change, but then she experienced some doubts about her singing abilities.

Her mother Alba (Ivonne Col) and daughter Jane (Gina Rodriguez) didn’t want her to give up on her dreams, so they encouraged her to open up her own dance studio in Chapter 49 by performing “Beauty School Dropout” from “Grease.”

Navedo told Vulture that she throughly enjoyed that scene. “It was extremely entertaining and a lot of fun because I got to sit there and watch Ivonne Coll, Jaime Camil, and Gina Rodriguez perform for me,” Navedo said of the scene. “I’m very happy with the story line for Xo.”

Navedo added that Xo is growing up this season, and she’s happy “Jane the Virgin” writers are taking a chance on her.

“They're keeping her more real because what ends up happening is that, if Xo continued on the path that she was on she would just be almost another stereotype in a sense,” explained Navedo. “The character should have some growth, emotional and psychological. Why not? Everyone else does. In real life, we think people don't change but they do. People do change in profound ways with all the different major things that happen in their lives.”

It would be quite interesting to see how Xo reacts to the appearance of a former beau, played by Ricardo Chavira.

Deadline revealed that the “Desperate Housewives” alum will be playing an ex-boyfriend who dated her when he was still married. Chavira has been cast in a recurring role, so he won't be disappearing on Xo anytime soon.

As for her other ex-lover Rogelio Dela Vega (Camil), he will be looking for love with the help of professional matchmaker Darcy Factor (Justina Machado).

“Jane the Virgin” Season 3 airs every Monday at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
