The cast of “Jane the Virgin” is really drumming up excitement for the premiere episode of Season 3.

During an interview with The CW Network about the “cliffhanger” from Season 2 — Michael’s shooting — the cast of the show all gave different points of view about what will happen to Michael’s survival.

Ivonne Col, who plays Jane’s grandmother Alba, hinted at a surprise reaction from fans. “That episode is going to be so shocking. It's like a roller coaster, that first episode,” said Col.

As for Justin Baldoni, who plays Michael’s rival Rafael Solano, he said that he did not like the direction the show is currently headed towards to. “When I read that [script], I got a little sick to my stomach. I was like, ‘That is wrong!’” said Baldoni.

Brett Dier, who plays Michael, provided a simple statement: “It's a really good first episode back.”

Out of all the comments made by the stars, it was Jamie Camil’s that was the most hilarious. Camil plays Jane’s father Rogelio Dela Vega, who has an intense “bromance” with his new son-in-law Michael. For his character’s sake, Camil hopes Michael survives the attack.

“The most important love story in the show is Rogelio and Michael, so Rogelio was devastated [because of Michael's shooting]. Michael better get well soon, otherwise it's going to be a very blue season for my character,” he said.

Earlier, Gina Rodriguez, who plays Jane Gloriana Villanueva, told Entertainment Weekly that she filmed a lot of heavy scenes for next season that will really tug at the heartstrings, and it took an effort for her to maintain her positive aura in real life.

“You learn to replace your energy in some other thought than the one in the scene,” Rodriguez explained. “You see her in the lowest of lows. It’s very heavy.”

One person who will be forced to grow up is Jane’s mother Xo (Andrea Navedo), who got pregnant last season. TV Guide even revealed that pregnancy isn’t going to be Xo’s only focus next season, since she will land a very important audition for the popular singing competition “The Voice.”

“Jane the Virgin” Season 3 will premiere on Monday, Oct. 17, at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
