How do the stars of The CW show “Jane the Virgin” stay in shape, given their hectic schedules? Lead stars Gina Rodriguez and Jaime Camil, who play Jane Gloriana Villanueva and Rogelio De La Vega, respectively, revealed their secrets.

During an interview on the set with Entertainment Tonight, Camil said that he makes it a point to eat healthy.

“I do this food service where you receive your breakfast, your snack, your lunch, your snack, your everything, because I have a lot of cravings,” Camil explained. “So if I didn't commit to that service, I would eat everything you put on this table.”

Camil jokingly added that he is like a garbage can, because he likes to eat “absolutely everything.” However, if there’s one thing he is partial to, it would definitely be chocolate chip cookies.

On the other hand, Camil’s work daughter Rodriguez said that she does not have any food cravings anymore because she has made a decision to eat healthy.

“Now that I've shifted my mind and I’m starting to eat clean, it just doesn’t feel like a cheat meal, it feels like a [eating] meal that’s hurting myself,” she explained. “Because I’ll feel it immediately. I’ll feel like, sodium in my hands and in my feet.”

“So I’m not cheating on anyone but myself if I do that,” she continued. “I mean, I eat. I eat food that's good for me and I eat a lot of it, because I like to eat too. But I definitely just eat things that are not gonna throw down my energy. I don't got time for that!”

Rodriguez credits her healthy lifestyle to her boyfriend, Joe LoCicero. She said that she would get depressed whenever certain clothes won’t fit her, but LoCicero is always there to encourage her.

“Before, I would have beaten myself up. But my boyfriend gave me some great advice. He said, ‘Don’t be angry with your body — it changed because your routine shifted.’ And that was like a gift,” she told Shape. “As an actress, there are so many pressures to look a certain way and fit into a sample size. But I’ve got to embrace the fact that when I’m shooting ‘Jane,’ I can’t work out as much. My body is going to look different, and that’s okay. I’m not willing to wring the joy from my life to kill myself in the gym.”
