RTTNews - Wednesday, Japan's Teikoku Databank Ltd said the corporate bankruptcies increased 21.5% year-on-year to 1,294 cases in June, faster than the 6.3% increase in the previous month.

Month-on-month, the corporate bankruptcies grew 22.4% in June, compared with a 9.6% drop in the preceding month.

For the first half of the year, bankruptcies increased 16.6% compared to the same period of the previous year. During the period, the bankruptcies totaled 7,023 cases.

Meanwhile, the total liabilities increased 0.5% annually to JPY 474.5 billion in June and it fell 7.3% compared to the previous month.

Separately, the Tokyo Shoko Research Ltd reported that the corporate bankruptcies increased 7.4% year-on-year to 1,422 cases in June. The total debt was JPY 160 billion.
