Japan's current account total showed a surplus of 1470.6 billion yen in February less than the forecasted 1620.0 billion yen, but it came better than the previous surplus of 899.8 billion yen. The adjusted current account total came at 1119.0 billion yen from 1712.8 billion yen, while forecasts referred to 1248.7 billion yen.

On the other hand, the trade balance surplus widened to 778.0 billion yen compared with a previous surplus of 197.2 billion yen, and it topped analysts' estimates of 762.8 billion yen.
