Japan's housing starts index dropped by 2.48% during the month of March, compared with a prior increasing 10.1% in February, and the analysts' expectations referred to -1.1%.

Annualized housing starts recorded 0.807 million unit during the year ended March, compared with a previous 0.872 million unit a year earlier, while the anticipations estimated of 0.814 unit. Moreover, annualized construction orders in Japan came at -11.0%, from 19.5% a year earlier.
