RTTNews - Industrial production in Japan was up 1.9 percent in July compared to the previous month, the ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry said on Monday, beating forecasts for a 1.4 percent increase after the 2.3 percent gain in June.

On an annual basis, output fell 22.9 percent compared to forecasts for a 23.1 percent contraction after the 23.5 percent decline in the previous month.

The shipment-to-inventory ratio was down 4.1 percent on month as shipments collected 2.3 percent and inventories eased 0.2 percent.

The forecast of large companies predict that output will climb 2.4 percent on month in August and then add 3.2 percent in September.
