RTTNews - Japan is scheduled to release preliminary May figures for industrial production on Monday, headlining a modest day for Asia-Pacific economic news. Japan also will release May numbers for retail sales and vehicle production.

Industrial production is predicted to expand 7.0 percent on month following the 5.9 percent gain in April. Retail sales are seen flat on month and down 2.6 percent on year, while large retailer sales are predicted to fall an annual 6.2 percent. Vehicle sales fell 47.1 percent on year in April.

New Zealand is expected to release May data for imports, exports and trade balance, along with building permits. Imports are expected to show a surplus of 3.42 billion New Zealand dollars, while exports are called at 3.70 billion NZD for a trade surplus of 250 million NZD. Building permits were up 11.2 percent on month in April.
