Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry is scheduled to release February figures for its tertiary activity index on Friday, headlining a light day for Asian economic news. Also due are March numbers for consumer confidence and department store sales.
The tertiary index is expected to ease 0.8 percent on month following the 0.4 percent gain in January. Consumer confidence is expected to post a score of 30 after coming in at 27.6 in February, while consumer confidence for households is projected at 29 after the 26.7 reading a month earlier. Nationwide department store sales were down 11.5 percent on year in February, while Tokyo department stores fell an annual 11.7 percent.
Thailand will provide foreign reserves data for the week ending April 10, with analysts expecting an increase of 117.5 percent on year following the 116.7 percent jump in the previous week.
