RTTNews - Automobile production in Japan continued to fall for the tenth consecutive month in July, the latest report from the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association or JAMA said Monday.

Auto production fell 31.9% year-on-year to 742,284 units, reflecting a decline in the production of passenger cars, buses and trucks. Passenger cars production slipped 31%, while that of trucks and buses dropped 37.1% and 42.4% respectively.

Domestic sales stood at 430,962 vehicles in July, down 5.2% from last year. At the same time, exports slipped 45.1% to 339,652 units.

Meanwhile, motorcycle production fell 49.5% on a yearly basis in July to 48,448 units. Factory shipments fell 36.1%, while exports were down 51.2%.
