The Japanese consumer price index

The Japanese economy issued the consumer price index for July, where the annual reading showed a rise of 0.2% compare with the expected reading of 0.0%, while the previous reading was revised to - 0.4% from 0.2%.

The annual consumer price index excluding fresh food for July (which is the favorite inflation indicator for the BOJ) advanced by 0.1% from the previous rise of 0.4%, while the expectations refer to - 0.1%.

On the other hand, the consumer price index excluding food and energy for July dropped by 0.5% compared the expected reading of - 0.6%, while the previous reading revised to - 0.8% from 0.1%.
