RTTNews - Japan's leading index rose to 77 in May from 76.2 in the previous month, a preliminary report by the country's Cabinet Office said Monday. The index came in line with economists' expectations. Moreover, the index increased for the third consecutive month in May.

The coincident index edged up to 86.9 from 86 in April, and was also in line with economists' expectations. Meanwhile, the lagging index decreased to 84 from 86.3 in the preceding month.
