Japanese yen extends downtrend against dollar and pound

The Japanese yen extended its Asian session downtrend against the US dollar and the British pound during early European deals on Thursday. At 3:00 am ET, the yen declined to 98.07 against the dollar and 143.11 versus the pound, compared to Wednesday's closing value of 97.56 and 142.00 respectively. If the Japanese currency falls further, 99.2 versus the greenback and 147.9 against the sterling is seen as the next target level.
