RTTNews - Japan's convenience store sales fell for the first time since April 2008, data released by the Japan Franchise Association showed Tuesday.

Sales fell 2.3% year-on-year to JPY605.91 billion in June after rising 1% in May.

Though, the number of visitors recorded an annual increase of 2.6%, purchases per person declined 4.8% to JPY 556.9, data showed.
