Japan's current account surplus widened in September recording 1567.9 billion yen compared with a previous surplus of 1171.2 billion yen, while forecasts referred to a surplus of 1510.0 billion yen. The adjusted current account total came in at 1338.0 billion yen from 1233.6 billion yen, while it was anticipated to record 1320.1 billion yen.

Regarding the nation's trade balance surplus, it widened in September recording 599.2 billion yen higher than the prior 303.7 billion yen and less than the expected 630.0 billion yen.
