Japan's merchandise trade balance surplus widened to 948.9 billion yen in March compared with a revised surplus of 649.6 billion yen from 651.0 billion yen, while it came below analysts' estimates of 1020.6 billion yen. The adjusted merchandise trade balance surplus came at 666.2 billion yen from a revised 471.8 billion yen, and forecasts referred to 602.7 billion yen.
