Jaycee Lee Dugard was kidnapped for 18 years and was held isolated from the world by a stranger, Phillip Garrido, who also fathered two of her children, authorities revealed on Thursday during a press conference, according to the Associated Press.

Dugard, who was abducted from a bus stop at age 11 in 1991, spent most of the time in sheds, tents and outbuildings, El Dorado County Undersheriff Fred Kollar said, according to the agency. Dugard and the two children never attended school or were seen by a doctor, the report says.

Garrido is under arrest on various kidnapping and sex charges. Nancy Garrido, his wife was also booked on charges of kidnapping and conspiracy.

Dugard now 29, was found after she walked into a police station in Northern California this week.
