The academy award winning actor, Jeff Bridges reunited with the "Big Lebowski" cast on Aug. 16 to celebrate the release of the Blu-Ray DVD. A crowd of nearly 2500 people gathered at Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC. Among the cast was John Goodman, Steve Buscemi, Julianne Moore, and John Turturro. Jeff Dowd, writer and producer of the 1998 film was in attendance, however, the directors--Joel and Ethan Coen--were not.

The cast and attendees met a double-celebration as the launch party and the annual "Lebowski-Fest" occurred at the same time. This yearly fest began in 2002 and features fans dressing up like the film's characters, trivia contests, bowling, and all things "Lebowski"!

The launch party means we can now watch Jeff Bridges and the cast in incredible quality. Oftentimes, 1080p transfers of old film make the quality worst, but this transfer was a big success as you can now appreciate the cinematography in a whole new way. Extras on the DVD contain a documentary on the "Lebowski-Fest," and "Making of," cast interviews, and a Jeff Bridges photo book. The DVD also contains a digital copy that gives you a code in the case that you want to download your copy from iTunes, Amazon, or Vudu.
