Celebrity power couple Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck stopped by Garner’s hometown of Charleston, W.Va., over the weekend to baptize their son and celebrate their eighth wedding anniversary, People reports.

According to the magazine, the baptism happened on Sunday morning at Garner’s family parish, Christ Church United Methodist. Garner and Affleck were joined by their two daughters, Violet, 7, and Seraphina, 4, as well as Garner’s parents and sister.

Baby Samuel, 16 months old, was wearing blue overalls and “kept trying to high-five the pastor as he was getting baptized,” a parishioner told People. "Violet was very well-behaved," the parishioner said of the oldest child. "Seraphina was funny – she was running around, and Ben had to keep getting up to run after [her]."

The previous night, Affleck and Garner celebrated their wedding anniversary by heading to local restaurant Pies & Pints for beer, pizza and salad. The couple was spotted by patron Robyn Brammer, who indicated that Affleck and Garner appeared to enjoy a relaxed, intimate evening.

"They were so cute, holding hands and kissing each other. She had her hand on his leg,” Brammer said. "They were really affectionate."

Pies & Pints owner Rob Lindeman praised the couple to People. "Ben and Jen like to drop in when they're in town," Lindeman said. "They're just really solid people. They seemed like they were having a great time.”

The couple wrapped up the evening by enjoying dessert at Ellen’s Homemade Ice Cream, where Affleck reportedly tipped “like $100 each” to the employees working there at the time.

Affleck, 40, and Garner, 41, met on the set of the 2003 film “Daredevil.” Affleck has been enjoying success behind the camera, directing the Academy Award-winning film “Argo,” as well as “The Town.” Garner has acted in indie fare (“Butter”) and studio projects (“Arthur”) in recent years.
