Jennifer Lawrence has starred in a lot of high-grossing movies, ranging from “The Hunger Games” to “The Silver Linings Playbook,” not to mention the “X-Men” films and also “Passengers.”

However, there was one role that Lawrence really wanted to get - Olive from “Easy A.” What makes the loss even more painful is that the role went to her friend, Emma Stone.

During The Hollywood Reporter’s annual actress roundtable, the two actresses discussed one of the “movie castings that never happened.”

“I auditioned for Easy A. I wanted it so bad,” Lawrence said. Stone teasingly replied, “Well, guess what? You didn’t get it. You didn’t get it because you suck!”

“Outside,” Lawrence jokingly fired back.

Lawrence and Stone became friends after Woody Harrelson, who starred in “The Hunger Games” with Lawrence and “Zombieland” with Stone, decided to give Stone Lawrence’s number. Harrelson believed the two girls would click, and he was right, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

“She texted me that she got my number from Woody. I replied, ‘F— off!’ And we’ve been really good friends ever since,” Lawrence said.

Back then, Lawrence was already a movie hitmaker while Stone’s star was just on the rise. Stone even told Vanity Fair that she initially felt really intimidated by Lawrence.

“She may not even know this,” Stone shared, “but there was definitely a time early on where I was like, ‘OH HEY MY EGO IS GOING NUTS SHE’S GO GREAT AND VIBRANT AND TALENTED I’M SCREWED I’LL NEVER WORK AGAIN GOODBYE YELLOW BRICK ROAD.’ Then I chilled the [expletive] out — and remembered we’re completely different and there is room for everyone, even if it’s an industry that doesn’t really seem to support that idea up front.”

It was a good thing Stone overcame her fears, because she eventually landed the role of Mia in “La La Land.” The highly acclaimed musical film scored big during the Academy Awards, and even gave Stone a huge paycheck - $26 million pre-tax.

In fact, she became Forbes’ 2017 highest-paid actress because of that role, toppling down both Jennifer Aniston who claimed the second spot and Jennifer Lawrence who got third place.
