Jessica Alba is joining a long list of celebrities who have added the word author to their resumes.

The 30-year-old actress, wife and mother of two is publishing The Honest Life, which will provide tips on maintaining a natural and toxic-free home, People magazine reported. The book will be published by Rodale and is scheduled for a 2013 release.

This book is for people who are in the middle but want to create a healthier life, like me, Alba told the magazine.

The book news comes soon after the actress co-launched The Honest Company, which home-delivers what are deemed as safe and natural everyday products, including baby products.

In an article for The Huffington Post, Alba wrote about purchasing and using recommended products that were supposed to be safer but ended up not working well.

My dishes didn't get clean, she wrote. The conditioner wouldn't detangle my daughter's hair and those diapers kept leaking. I was utterly frustrated, and sick and tired of compromising.

Thus was born The Honest Company, in which the goal is to deliver safe and affordable products -- and shorten the manhunt for them.

I've spent way too many hours researching products and driving around trying to find safer, eco-friendly options for my kids, Alba said in a statement that announced the company launch. I knew that most people didn't have that kind of time, nor the means to pay the premium prices. We had to make it easier.
