Jessica Rae Sacco's murder suspect, Matthew Puccio, has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity on Tuesday, MSNBC reported.

Puccio, 25, is facing life imprisonment for stabbing, suffocating and dismembering, Sacco, his 21-year-old girlfriend in their Urbana duplex apartment.

Four others who were also charged in connection to the gruesome crime have also entered not guilty pleas, according to MSNBC. These four have been accused of helping Puccio cut off or transport Sacco's limbs.

Puccio recently told the Springfield News-Sun that Sacco begged him to kill her last month, after he found out about text messages she allegedly had sent saying she wanted him dead.

Puccio also said he met Sacco on Facebook while searching for friends during a rough patch in his life.

My ex-fiancee walked out on me, took my son, my daughter, he told the Springfield News-Sun.

Sacco's landlord found her remains in a bathtub on March 30.
