American Idol's Jessica Sanchez spent all week in the hospital, but that didn't stop her from wowing the judges on last night's show.

Sanchez worried minutes before her performance that she wouldn't sound up to par telling American Idol host Ryan Seacrest, I had to go to the doctor. I'm worried about my song; my voice is hoarse and soar.

Sanchez performed Love You I Do, a song performed by American Idol alumni Jennifer Hudson in the movie Dreamgirls. After her performance the judges had nothing but praise for the 16-year-old contestant from San Diego.

I don't know about no doctor, American Idol judge Randy Jackson said. What's really happening [is] that girl can sing!

You're beyond your years, Jennifer Lopez said.

They are going to have to pay you next time, Steven Tyler said.

Sanchez is not the first contestant to tackle a song from a movie on American Idol and she certainly will not be the last. In last season's shows, several contestants performed songs from movies and won praise from judges Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson as well, but it's interesting to see if they stacked up against Sanchez.

Last season brought on the very first Heavy Metal performance by American Idol contestant James Durbin. Durbin performed Sammy Hagar's Heavy Metal from the movie Heavy Metal. It was a bold risk, but it seemed to pay off for Durbin.

That felt really, really real! They are killing it dead tonight, Jennifer Lopez said after Durbin's performance. Who ever thought that on American Idol that we would have pure heavy metal?

Possibly taking a bit of flak for choosing a Miley Cyrus song, contestant Lauren Alaina performed The Climb from the Hanna Montana movie, but it seems like it was a good gamble.

You move me beyond tears, Steven Tyler said.

Showing off that he could not only sing contestant Paul McDonald performed Bob Seger's Old Time Rock and Roll from Risky Business, while dancing, playing the tambourine and having a saxophone player accompany him on stage.

I love that crazy, wild abandonment, Steven Tyler said.

Who do you think has given the best movie song performance on American Idol?
