A New Jersey man has been charged with murder after he repeatdely ran over her with his car when she tried to break up with him, prosecutors said Tuesday.

Charles Ann, 26, was arrested in Queens, NY a day after the incident took place. Police say that he was carrying his passport and large amunts of cash with him and think that he was going to flee the country.

Witnesses said they saw the woman, 24-year-old Aena Hong, on foot arguing with the driver of a 2011 Hyundai Sonata in Fort Lee, New Jersey around 5 p.m. on Monday. At one point the car drove away from the woman before turning around, accelerating and hitting her, running over her repeatedly.

Hong was taken to the hospital where she died an hour later was injuries associated with the accident.

Ann is a native of Korea, but immigrated to the U.S. in 2009 and has become a naturalized citizen since then. He is being held on $3 million bail and is waiting to be extradited to New Jersey.
