Actor Jim Carrey's daughter made the cut on American Idol, singing Let's Give Them Something to Talk About.

She did indeed give viewers something to talk about , as some are wondering if Jane Carrey got special treatment on Sunday night's special San Diego episode. She got a ticket to Hollywood, singing Bonnie Raitt's Let's Give Them Something to Talk About.

Reviews have been lukewarm -- Fox News called it a pretty okay rendition -- leading to speculation that her father's A-list status gained her successful pass to the big audition on American Idol.

Jane Carrey reportedly didn't even have to wait in line for her appearance on the San Diego episode like other contestants.

She didn't have to sleep outside and wait for hours to audition like everyone else, reported the website RadarOnline.com, quoting an unnamed source. She basically had an appointment and showed up!

American Idol producers obviously knew she was coming -- of course -- since the show featured her in a biographical sketch in which she said growing up the daughter of actor Jim Carrey wasn't easy.

It is difficult kind of growing up in the shadow of something and trying to find your place in the world, she said. The last name definitely helps, and hurts.
