The U.S. Department of Labor said today in Washington the initial jobless claims in the week ended March 31 fell at 357 thousand, compared to the prior revised estimate of 363 thousand, but analysts' missing median estimates of 355 thousand.

Continuing claims in the week ended March 24 came in at 3338 thousand, down from a prior revided 3354 thousand and down from median estimates of 3350 thousand. the four-week moving average dropped to 367,750 thousand from 366,00 last week.
