John Legend Opens Up About Daughter Luna, Being A Dad

John Legend has opened up about his 16-month-old daughter, Luna.

According to the "All of Me" singer, his and wife Chrissy Teigen's baby girl already has a mature palate and loves eating a wide variety of food. "She's eats grown up food," Legend told Us Weekly. "She loves pretty much anything! We have traveled a lot and we've cooked a lot at the house and she pretty much eats whatever we eat. We just make sure it's not too spicy. She's had Asian cuisine, Italian, American and soul food."

In addition to Luna's love of food, she is also quickly expanding her vocabulary. The proud dad said that their baby is already walking and talking. "She'll say sounds that sound like she's making a full sentence, but they don't make any sense," Teigen's husband said. "She can really understand us a lot more than I thought she would by this time."

While Teigen and Legend are enjoying the progress of their daughter, the singer also confessed that he and Teigen have changed since becoming parents. For instance, the couple has been more careful when it comes to their words. "I feel like I have to think about that now," Legend said. "I think the key with kids is you have to talk as much as you can around them. Hearing a lot of words helps them become more verbal. We’re all trying to be as verbal as possible around her."

In related news, Legend previously opened up about the time he briefly broke up with Teigen. According to the "Beauty and the Beast" singer, there was a time in his life when he felt that he was better off single and tried to end things with Teigen. However, when he told his then-girlfriend about splitting up, the "FABlife" host did not agree with him and refused to break up. As a result, Legend and Teigen's split only lasted for less than an hour before the pair got back together.

The model explained the incident in a tweet. "It wasn't a typical breakup," Teigen wrote on Twitter. "He was on tour and his voice hurt and he was being a whiny face about everything and so yeah, I was like 'no'."

After 11 years, Teigen and Legend are still together and are now blessed with a daughter, Luna. The couple is still hoping to add more babies to their brood via IVF. "We're lucky that we're living in an age where we can conceive in other ways. [IVF] brought us Luna and hopefully, it will bring us a few more awesome kids, too," Legend told Cosmopolitan.
