Johnny Depp was spotted sporting a new look during his weekend getaway in Spain.

The 53-year-old actor was seen arriving in Ibiza via private jet over the weekend, and sources told People that the Oscar-nominated thespian is currently renting a villa on the island. On Saturday, Depp was photographed smiling while boarding a yacht. He looked noticeably different in the photos as he was sporting a new haircut and mustache.

Although Depp has been rocking a short haircut since the year started, it seems that it’s the first time the actor was seen sporting a shaved-sides hairstyle. During the 1990s and early 2000s, the actor had a long hair which he usually kept shaggy and slightly greasy.

Meanwhile, Depp’s estranged wife Amber Heard flew back to Los Angeles from London for her scheduled deposition last Saturday. Multiple sources, however, said that the actress’ deposition was never taken even though she was willing to give it.

A source told New York Daily News that Heard “was there and ready to proceed; she never refused to go in” but her deposition was not taken by Depp’s attorneys.

The source did not provide any details about what happened during that time, but lawyer Steve Mindel -- who is not affiliated with the case -- told People that both sides may be working on a settlement.

"I suspect that this was a great time for both sides to talk settlement, considering neither party ultimately wants to be deposed," Mindel said.

Heard filed for divorce in May claiming that Depp physically abused her. The “Pirates of The Caribbean” actor hasn’t publicly commented on the allegations yet, but Depp’s divorce lawyer Laura Wasser said in a court filing that the 30-year-old actress was just “attempting to secure a premature financial resolution by alleging abuse.”

“The Danish Girl” actress said in a sworn statement to the court last May that Depp “wound up (his) arm like a baseball pitcher” and whacked her in the face with a cell phone during a drunken rage on May 21, a day after his mother died. She also said that Depp had grabbed her by the hair and “violently shoved” her to the floor during an earlier incident on April 21.

TMZ, however, recently reported that Depp’s lawyers submitted a list of nearly two dozen witnesses to support his claim that Heard was lying when she said that he brutalized her during their marriage.
