It looks like the Duggars will be missing a family member this Christmas. One report suggests former “19 Kids and Counting” star Josh Duggar will not be leaving rehab to spend the holidays with his wife and kids.

“I don't think he's going to be back for Christmas," a source told People. The insider added they would be “surprised” if the dad of four returned from treatment, saying his appearance would make for “a huge elephant in the room.”

Josh, who was also at the center of a molestation scandal this year, was speculated to have started treatment at Reformers Unanimous recovery center in Rockford, Illinois, in August after he admitted to being unfaithful to his wife, Anna Duggar. His statement came after his name was leaked in the Ashley Madison hack.

“I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the internet and this became a secret addiction and I became unfaithful to my wife,” he said. “As I am learning the hard way, we have the freedom to choose to our actions, but we do not get to choose our consequences. I deeply regret all hurt I have caused so many by being such a bad example.

Anna commented on Josh’s treatment during Sunday’s installment of TLC’s “Jill & Jessa: Counting On.”

"Josh is away at a Christian recovery program. It was something that Josh decided he really felt that he was at a place where he needed a lot of help," she said. "It wasn't an easy choice."

Anna also admitted to Josh’s absence being tough on her with four little ones to take care of, and according to People, it has also be an adjustment for their four children. "It's so hard when it comes to the kids," said a source of Mackynzie, 6; Michael, 4; Marcus 2; and Meredith, 5 months. "They miss their dad. They're like 'Where's daddy?' They've said it before."

While Josh’s children may want to see their dad for Christmas, all of the Duggars may not be ready to welcome Josh back home to Arkansas. Dillon King, husband to Josh’s cousin Amy (Duggar) King, has revealed to In Touch Weekly that the reality show brood doesn’t discuss Josh’s molestation and cheating scandals off-camera. “I don’t understand it,” he said. “Every time you ask them how they’re doing, they’re all ‘doing great.'"

The season finale of “Jill & Jessa: Counting On” airs Sunday at 9 p.m. EST on TLC.
