Josh Duggar appears to be in the doghouse with several of his family members. Following his admission last week to having had accounts on the cheating site Ashley Madison and being unfaithful to his wife, Anna, unnamed individuals close to the former “19 Kids and Counting” star are reportedly stepping forward, slamming the father of four’s actions.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, two unidentified members of Josh’s family said they’re “all shocked and broken and furious" by his behavior. One member of the clan said the eldest child of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar has now cast a “dark cloud” over their family.

“It’s scary. You never know who can have a double life. You really think you know someone,” said one family member, adding that they hope Josh’s stint in rehab, which he started Tuesday, will leave him “broken.”

“Josh was caught with his hand in the cookie jar and I hope he gets broken in rehab and gets the help he needs,” said the source.

A second family member told ET they hope Josh, who is believed to be receiving counsel at Reformers Unanimous, will be changed by his treatment. “I hope and pray Josh gets the help he needs. I believe he is getting that help. We had no idea about any of this. We love our family and we are praying for Josh.”

The two anonymous family members are not the only ones upset over Josh’s latest scandal. On Monday, People reported that Josh’s brother-in-law Daniel Keller slammed him on Facebook. In response to a post from Jessa (Duggar) Seewald about forgiveness, Daniel said that he was “sick to my stomach” as a result of Josh's actions and would not "stop trying to get that pig out of our family.”

On Aug. 20, Jim Bob and Michelle released a statement after it was revealed that Josh had paid for accounts on Ashley Madison, a site which helps married men and women find affair partners. “When we learned of this late last night our hearts were broken,” the couple wrote. In a separate statement Josh apologized for his actions and called himself “the biggest hypocrite ever.”

“While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the internet and this became a secret addiction and I became unfaithful to my wife,” he wrote. “I am so ashamed of the double life that I have been living and am grieved for the hurt, pain and disgrace my sin has caused my wife and family, and most of all Jesus and all those who profess faith in Him.”

Josh also asked that his supporters pray for his family, including Anna, his wife of six years.

“As I am learning the hard way, we have the freedom to choose our actions, but we do not get to choose our consequences. I deeply regret all the hurt I have caused so many by being such a bad example. I humbly ask for your forgiveness. Please pray for my precious wife Anna and our family during this time.”

Josh and Anna have four children together, Mackynzie, 5, Michael, 4, Marcus, 2, and Meredith, 1 month. While Josh is in rehab, Anna is believed to be hiding out at one of the family’s mountain homes in Arkansas. Insiders recently shared that despite her husband’s cheating scandal, she’s "highly unlikely” to pursue a divorce.
