The famous July 4th fireworks in NYC is one of the biggest and most beautiful events in the city.

This year, with the theme of Gift of Freedom, over 40,000 fireworks will be fired over 2 miles of the Hudson River, starting at 9:20 p.m. and lasting for 26 minutes.

The display will be set off from six barges positioned between 20th and 55th Streets on the Hudson River.

Where is the best place to watch it?

The consensus is West Side Manhattan below 59th street and the New Jersey waterfront. One of the best and most relaxing ways to enjoy it is with a plate of meal in restaurants. Manhattan offers high-priced options in skyscrapers that run several hundred dollars.

For the rest of us, we have New Jersey.

Hoboken is probably your best bet because the Path Hoboken train station is right along the Hudson. Just buy a round-trip ticket and take it to Hoboken.

When you get out of the station, go up on Hudson, turn right on River Street, and turn right onto Frank Sinatra Dr.

From there, take your pick of the multiple restaurants on the street. Some of them are here.

No promises, but with common sense selection, these are probably your best (and cheapest) choices for viewing the July 4th Fireworks in NYC from a restaurant.
