Justice Stephen Breyer Robbed During Vacation Home Invasion
U.S. Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer was recently robbed during a vacation in the West Indies, The Associated Press reported.
Supreme Court spokeswoman Kathy Arberg said a machete-armed man on Feb. 9 broke into the 73-year-old's vacation home in the island of Nevis around 9 p.m. while the justice and his wife were entertaining two guests, according to the AP.
The intruder snagged $1,000 in cash, though no one was hurt, Arberg said.
Breyer had been vacationing during the Supreme Court's mid-term recess, which started in late January. Court business will resume this Friday.
