Bieber's manager, Scooter Braun, said collaboration between the UK boy band and the teen sensation was very much possible.

[A collaboration is] very possible. He likes them and thinks they are good dudes. All people of that generation should be there to help each other, he said according to MTV.

Fans took to Twitter to voice their opinions. Some supported the collaboration, while others thought it was a bad idea.

One fan wrote can't believe Justin and 1D are collaborating together, this is probably a dream come true for Niall. Aw.

If Justin and 1D hung out today in a room, does that mean it caught on fire? Cuz they're all so hot..., wrote another.

Even though it'd probably be flawless, I REALLY DON'T WANTJUSTIN AND 1D TO COLLAB said a fan tweeting his disdain.

One fan absolutely hated the news of a possible collaboration. Justin and 1D collaborating? Kill me the f--k now. The monstrosity they create will be the apocalypse incarnate, one fan wrote.

Others tried to be the voice of reason.

Justin and 1D are both talented. if they collaborated, why are y'all mad!? you haven't even heard it yet. Tbfh, said one fan.

Directioners try to make everything a competition between Justin and 1D. Why? Are you that desperate for them to more famous? lol thats sad, wrote Malisa on the popular social networking site.

Bieber's first single 'Boyfriend' off his new album sold 520,000 downloads in its debut week. Bieber's also been in the studio with Usher and Will.I.Am this week.

One Direction's album 'Up All Night' topped the US Billboard 200 chart. They will be headlining a concert at Madison Square Garden in December.

Bieber and One Direction established their friendship early on. Bieber congratulated the boy band on their success in the states. He wrote 'congrats to my dudes @onedirection for the #1 album on itunes and @thewantedmusic for the #2 on singles. We share the same queen. #Canadian on Twitter.

A collaboration between the two only makes sense.
