Justin Bieber has opened up to fans about his decision to cancel the rest of his “Purpose” world tour.

On Wednesday, the “Love Yourself” crooner posted a heartfelt message to his fans on Instagram regarding his past decisions and future plans. In the post, Bieber revealed that he needed to take a break from touring in order to be “sustainable.”

“I’m so grateful for this journey with all of you.. I’m grateful for the tours but most of all I am grateful I get to go through this life WITH YOU!” the 23-year-old singer wrote. “I have let my insecurities get the best of me at times, I let my broken relationships dictate the way I acted toward people and the way I treated them! I let bitterness, jealousy and fear run my life!!!”

Bieber went on to say that while he is aware that he won’t always make good decisions, he will try his best to do the right thing and learn from past mistakes. “I’m VERY aware I’m never gonna be perfect, and I’m gonna keep making mistakes but what I’m not going to do is let my past dictate my future,” he continued. “What I’m not gonna do is be ashamed of my mistakes. I wanna be a man that learns from them and grows from them.!! I want you all to know this tour has been unbelievable and has taught me so much about myself.. I am reminded of how blessed I am to have a voice in this world. I’ve learned the more you appreciate your calling the more you want to protect your calling.”

Selena Gomez’s ex-boyfriend explained that he canceled the rest of his “Purpose” tour so he won’t burn out. He also wants to take this time to work on himself as an artist and a man.

“Me taking this time right now is me saying I want to be SUSTAINABLE,” he added. “I want my career to be sustainable, but I also want my mind heart and soul to be sustainable. So that I can be the man I want to be, the husband I eventually want to be and the father I want to be. This message is just an opportunity for you to know my heart, I’m not expecting anyone to understand, but I do want people to have an opportunity to know where I am coming from!”

Last month, Bieber’s rep announced that the singer will cancel the rest of his world tour “due to unforeseen circumstances,” E! News reported.

“Justin loves his fans and hates to disappoint them. He thanks his fans for the incredible experience of the Purpose World Tour over last 18 months. He is grateful and honored to have shared that experience with his cast and crew for over 150 successful shows across six continents during this run. However, after careful consideration, he has decided he will not be performing any further dates. Tickets will be refunded at point of purchase,” the statement read.

Scooter Braun, his manager, assured fans last week that Bieber will return to the stage after taking some time off. In an Instagram post, he explained that the singer wanted to take a break in order to focus on his “soul and well-being.”

However, Bieber’s break may be off to a rough start as he hit a paparazzo with his car while he was leaving a church service in Beverly Hills last week. “He tried to scare away the paparazzi but as he neared the group, he accidentally hit one of the photographers who was in his path,” an eyewitness told People of the incident.

Bieber was released without a citation.
