Korean singer and actor Jung Joon-young was under investigation Tuesday for illegally recording videos of the women he had sex with, local media reports said. The 30-year-old is suspected of recording the videos of at least 10 women between 2015 and 2016, and sharing them on KakaoTalk messenger app without their consent.

South Korean media Yonhap reported, citing the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, that Jung shared the illegally filmed sex videos on a chat room, which also included fellow singer Seungri.

"Jung will fully cooperate in the investigation," his management agency said, according to Channel News Asia.

Jung, who was in the United States filming a variety show, had to return to South Korea this week and is now prohibited from leaving the country as the investigations into the scandals continue.

The young singer's career has taken a hit amid the ongoing controversy. Local media reports said he will no longer perform at a festival called “Beautiful Mint Life 2019,” where he was previously scheduled to attend.

A Korean network called tVN released an official statement:

We are notifying you of the position of the producers of tvN’s “4 Wheeled Restaurant” and “Salty Tour” in regards to Jung Joon Young.

“4 Wheeled Restaurant: Season 3” was originally planned so that Jung Joon Young would participate in our filming in LA and Lee Min Woo would participate in our filming in San Francisco. Jung Joon Young is returning to Korea after completing all of his scheduled filming for the show, so we are currently in the midst of filming in our next location, San Francisco, together with Lee Min Woo. Because the producers fully understand the gravity of this matter, they have decided to completely edit out all of Jung Joon Young’s footage.

The producers of “Salty Tour,” a South Korean television program which features Jung, have also decided to remove him from the show until the investigation is over, saying the episodes will air with the star's footage edited out.

The incident came to light during an investigation into Seungri, who has been accused of supplying prostitutes to foreign investors at several nightclubs in Seoul’s upmarket Gangnam district.

Seungri, a member of one of South Korea’s biggest K-pop bands, announced his retirement Monday amid the ongoing scandal.

The youngest member of Big Bang said he was making the decision to retire to fight the charges and to spare his management agency, YG Entertainment, and fellow band members further embarrassment.

“It would be better for me to retire from the entertainment scene at this point,” he wrote on Instagram. “As this scandal is too big, I have decided to retire. As for the ongoing investigation, I will take it seriously to clear myself of all the allegations... I give my heartfelt, sincere thanks to fans at home and abroad who gave their love for the past 10 years, and I think this should be it for the sake of the reputation of YG and Big Bang.”
