Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) MP Kanimozhi, who was granted bail by the Delhi High Court last Monday in the 2G scam case, arrived in Chennai Saturday.

Her father and DMK chief M Karunanidhi, mother Rajathi Ammal, husband Arvindan and son Aditya received her at the airport.

Earlier in the day, while speaking to reporters at the New Delhi airport, Kanimozhi said, It is a very happy feeling for me to be going to Chennai. But more than the bail, it is important for me and the others to prove our innocence.

Kanimozhi, who was languishing in the Tihar jail as an accused in the 2G spectrum scam for over six months, finally walked out of the Tihar jail around 7.30 pm Tuesday after completing formalities of her jail bond in a CBI court.

As per a party statement, she will be in Chennai from Dec. 3 to 6 and Dec. 10 to 11. She will also spend the year end in the city.

The Delhi High Court Monday granted bail to Kanimozhi, who is the daughter of key ally of the ruling Congress party DMK chief M Karunanidhi and was arrested May 20 on charges of routing kickbacks from the 2008 telecoms scandal.

Kanimozhi was asked to furnish two bond sureties of Rs 1 lakh each and told not to travel abroad.
