On Monday evening, after canceling the remaining dates on his Saint Pablo Tour, Kanye West was hospitalized for exhaustion.

According to TMZ, at around 4:20 p.m. EST, police responded to a welfare check on the rapper. Kanye, who was at his trainer Harley Pasternak’s house, was allegedly “acting erratically.” Kanye was being checked out by his personal physician, Dr. Michael Farzam, when the doctor then decided to call 911. Dr. Farzam assured the dispatcher that Kanye was not violent but would become aggressive when police arrived.

It is believed that Farzam said the rapper was suffering from “temporary psychosis due to sleep deprivation and dehydration.” According to the police report obtained by TMZ, the doctor told cops he placed Kanye on a 5150 psychiatric hold — an involuntary psychiatric hold authorized by a qualified officer or clinician.

The rapper was then handcuffed to a stretcher, which is standard protocol in that situation. It is also belived that Kanye tried to assault a staff member at the gym.

TMZ's report matches a report from People which states his physician advised Kanye to go to the hospital. “He is exhausted and currently dealing with sleep deprivation. He went to the hospital at will under the advise of his physician. He’s fine,” a People source said. But sleep deprivation may not be the only thing Kanye is dealing with.

According to People’s source, the “Life of Pablo” rapper “feels like he’s under spiritual attack” and has felt that way for quite some time. “It’s not just the big things; it’s smaller things, quieter things, internal things.”

While the robbery that wife Kim Kardashian was part of in Paris is weighing heavily on the rapper, there’s also other “more subtle” issues.

It was around this time in 2007 that Kanye lost his mother, Donda West, at the age of 58. It’s no secret that his mother’s death has taken a toll on him and during a 2015 interview with Us Weekly, he blamed himself for her passing. “If I had never moved to L.A. she’d be alive,” he said. “I don’t want to go far into it because it will bring me to tears.”

There’s also one more thing that may be affecting Kanye: spirituality. People reports the rapper’s “spirit is vexed” but he wants to fix it. “He’s just so tired now; he’s very low energy and feels like there’s a grieving in his spirit,” said a source.
