Kanye West is notorious for over-the-top moments during the MTV Video Music Awards. He’s crashed the stage, announced a potential presidential run and now he may be performing.

According to TMZ, the “Father Stretch My Hands” rapper has been given the green light to take over the show for four minutes. Sources claim that West, 39, has not revealed to MTV what he plans to do with his time and that’s just fine with them. Rumors have been swirling about a potential reunion with Taylor Swift following the fallout over his controversial “Famous” lyrics, but TMZ believes that is highly unlikely. MTV News joined in on speculating about West’s VMA performance, asking fans on Twitter if they’d heard that he was making an appearance. The network then took a shot at TMZ, tweeting a Drake meme at them and questioning their report. MTV has confirmed that West will be attending the awards, but said nothing more about performance rumors.

Should West be performing he will be in good company. According to the MTV VMA site, The Chainsmokers, Rihanna, Britney Spears, Future and more will take the stage between awards to wow audiences with their vocal range. More than 20 awards will be handed out during the show, including the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. The lifetime achievement award, which has previously been presented to artists like Beyoncé and Justin Timberlake, will go to Rihanna.

West received the honor in 2015, with Taylor Swift presenting him his award. West stood before the crowd in silence as they clapped before launching into a lengthy tirade. During his speech he announced plans to run for president in 2020, which scored even more applause from those in attendance and shocked wife Kim Kardashian. The “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star later revealed that her husband had not previously discussed his plans to come for the White House.

The 2016 MTV VMAs will kick off at 9 p.m. EDT on MTV. The show will be preceded by a special new episode of “Teen Mom OG,” which typically airs on Mondays.
