Kim Kardashian’s immense wealth, which is estimated at $40 million, is what makes her relationship with Kanye West work, feels the rapper, who opened up about his family and career during a one hour BBC Radio 1 interview that aired on Monday.

“She was in a powerful enough situation, where she could love me without asking me for my money, which is really hard for me to find,” the 36-year-old rapper said, adding, “She gave me everything. She gave me a family. She gave me a support system.”

He also spoke about his three-month-old daughter North West, called Nori, and said that in a few years, photographers should pay her every time her picture is sold.

"You see all these cheques you're getting age six because people are taking your picture, you don't have to worry about a thing ever again just because people want to take your picture, and I made that happen Nori,"' he said during the interview.

Addressing his career, West, who is said to have a “notoriously larger-than-life ego,” according to New York Daily News, told BBC’s Zane Lowe that rap is the latest rock ‘n’ roll and that he is the biggest star among all his contemporaries.

"We the new rock stars, and I'm the biggest of all of them. I'm the No. 1 rock star on the planet," West said, according to New York Daily News, and credited King of Pop Michael Jackson for paving the way for black artists to achieve success in the music industry.

“I would not be Kanye West if it wasn't for Michael Jackson. I was able to ascend to massive heights. And I've got to a point that Michael Jackson did not break down. I have reached the glass ceiling, as a creative person, as a celebrity and I've been at it for 10 years," West said.

But, he added that he is envious of the success enjoyed by Jay Z -- whom West considers a friend and a mentor -- because most of Jay Z’s dreams and aspirations have come true.
