Karl Lagerfeld, the German fashion designer and creative director of French fashion house Chanel, has showered praise on model Kendall Jenner. The 19-year-old has graced the cover of various top magazines and strutted her stuff on the runways for a host of renowned designers. She has fans across the fashion industry.

Lately Lagerfeld, the legendary designer, joined her long line of fans, according to Grazia. In a new behind-the-scenes film for Chanel eyewear, he said: “With castings like this you have to have the girl of the moment, the girl who represents certain types of woman or girl, or whatever you want, and she represents that perfectly.”

The short clip highlights Jenner's modeling credentials. She is seen in the ad with fellow model Baptiste Giabiconi, posing together in different pieces from the range. They have been photographed by Lagerfeld himself.

The clip shows the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star introducing herself as being on "Team Karl." She is seen in new fringe hair as she sports various eyewear from the new collection. In the ad her graphic hairstyle with blunt bangs looks much longer than her usual locks. It appears to be a wig. Lagerfeld also praised her co-star and French model Giabiconi, who he said was “very handsome, very funny, very French.”

Previously, designer Michael Kors said that Jenner was a strong, powerful, great-looking girl. He went on to say that she was a real professional, adding that her card just said "Kendall." He was impressed that she did not trade her famous name for her career.

In April this year she told V magazine that she was grateful to Marc Jacobs, Riccardo Tisci, Karl Lagerfeld and Katie Grand who gave her an opportunity in the TV show's first season. Jenner also opened up about her family’s fame that at times threatened to end her modeling career before it had even started. She said that several door were closed on her and many people were initially reluctant to take a chance on working with her while others laughed at her.
