Despite a breakup, Chris Brown defended his former girlfriend Karrueche Tran, after his fans slammed her for allegedly throwing shade at Brown. Tran and Brown broke up this year after she found out that the “Loyal” singer had a one-year-old daughter, Royalty, with model Nia Guzman.

The latest defense from Brown came after Tran shared a meme made by a fan on Instagram, targeting Brown for his alleged affiliation to gangs. In the photo, captioned “When You See Ya Ex Who’s A Blood,” Tran is seen in a head-to-toe blue Halloween costume to honor Lil’ Kim’s “Crush On You” video.

Tran, who is now rumored to be dating Rob Kardashian, insisted that there was no shade intended at Brown, but the singer’s fans claimed that she was starting trouble with Brown, despite saying that she has moved on. The photo was later deleted, according to the Inquisitr.

While Brown did not comment on Tran’s alleged shade, he posted a tweet saying “Ya’ll should just stop,” the Inquisitr reported. However, even Brown’s tweet was later deleted.

“[Chris Brown] is definitely trying to avoid contact with her and asked his assistant to ensure that he doesn’t end up at the same place that [Karrueche Tran] is partying,” a source close to Brown said, according to the Inquisitr, adding that there was still ample “bitterness and anger between them.”

While initially, Brown was said to be trying to reunite with Tran after their breakup in March, the Inquisitr cited sources to say that he is not trying anymore. In his song “Sorry,” Brown even apologized to Tran for being unfaithful in the relationship.

Brown is said to have rekindled his relationship with his former girlfriend Rihanna. Brown and Rihanna dated publicly in 2009 and broke up after a domestic violence case was lodged against him for assaulting Rihanna.
