Karrueche Tran, actress, model and former girlfriend of Chris Brown, opened up this week about her relationship with the controversial R&B singer. The 29-year-old “Claws” star said she still has a restraining order out against her ex but said that “it’s all good vibes” and the two are living their own lives.

Despite the fact that the two seem to be going about their respective careers independent of any ongoing drama, Tran told host Ebro during an interview with Hot 97 that the June restraining order was initially put in place “for my safety.” When Ebro asked the star if she was “really afraid” of her ex, Tran replied, “Yeah.”

“It just got to a point where it’s just like, I can’t,” she said. “Just to make sure. And I live in L.A. I’m from L.A. So I move around how I wanna move. You know what I’m saying? So that’s what I felt that I needed.”

Brown, 28, allegedly threatened Tran following the couple’s split and reportedly requested repayment for gifts and money she received from the singer during their relationship. Tran was granted a 5-year restraining order in June against the “Loyal” singer, who also had an abusive relationship with his ex Rihanna.

Karrueche said in court earlier this year that Brown said he would “beat the s--- out of [her]” and promised to “make [her] life hell,” according to TMZ.

“I’m not being nice to you no more,” Brown allegedly told Tran. “If I see you out in public again and I'm there I will make you hate me even more, don't be anywhere I'm out in public, I’m going to ban you from all events.”

However, Tran seemed to insinuate that there was no ongoing strife between the two as of more recently.

“I mean, I’m always positive and I’m just focused — more than ever right now — on work,” Tran said. “That’s just the goal for me. There’s no drama or anything like that. You know what I mean? I do have the R.O. in place. But it’s all good vibes. We live our own lives and that’s how we move.”

Tran said she’s currently focused on her various projects, which include her role on “Claws,” her modeling career and her collaboration with makeup brand ColourPop.

“I have this amazing platform that I want to utilize in the right way,” she said. “So if the opportunity comes where it’s a makeup collaboration, or a clothing line or an acting role, whatever it is, if I feel that it’s right, then let’s do it.”
