Kat Dennings might be getting an angry call from Amanda Bynes after she revealed that she went out for sushi with Drake on what she called a "nondate."

The "2 Broke Girls" actress has long faced speculation that she dated the rapper, but she put those rumors to rest on a recent episode of "Chelsea Lately."

The rumors surrounding Dennings and Drake have been around for so long that "Girls" creator Lena Dunham recently bemoaned her inability to get in touch with the rapper, telling Vulture that he had no interest in talking to her, "although I know Drake has a crush on Kat Dennings."

According to Dennings, the rumor began seven years ago when she met Drake on the set of a movie that was filming in Toronto. After their encounter, Dennings said Drake tweeted to her, inciting some of his fans to threaten her over Twitter.

"I looked at some of the "ats," and they were like 'f--- you, Kate Dennings,' like, 'you can't Drake from me, he's mine,'" Dennings told the show's host, Chelsea Handler. "And then I realized what had happened, and then we started talking, and he's super, super nice. He's a lovely person. He's a nice man."

Dennings did admit, however, that the two did go out for sushi together, but she maintained that it was not a date. "It was like a hangout time," Dennings said. "He was a gentleman, he was cool, whatever, we were just buds."

Dennings added, "It was overwhelming, the amount of security."

Drake's "overwhelming" security might be partly due to his overzealous fanbase, which includes troubled star Amanda Bynes. The retired actress, who has come under scrutiny for her increasingly bizarre antics and Twitter posts, recently professed her adoration for the rapper, calling him "handsome" and writing, "I want @drake to murder my vagina."

Dennings is now reportedly dating actor Nick Zano, who played a love interest on "2 Broke Girls," according to OK magazine. She has previously been romantically linked to Ryan Gosling and Matthew Gray Gubler.

Drake has largely avoided dating fellow celebrities, although he has admitted to dating Rihanna after one of her breakups with Chris Brown.

In a radio appearance on Elliott Wilson's "Keep It Thoro" show, Drake commented on Brown, saying, "His insecurities are the fact that I make better music than him, that I'm more poppin' than him and that at one point in life the woman that he loves fell into my lap."

Dennings' most recent film, "Thor: The Dark World," in which she acts alongside Natalie Portman, Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston, will appear on the silver screen Nov. 8.
