Kate Gosselin, one of reality TV’s most controversial moms, is returning this summer for a two-part TLC special.

The show will offer a new glimpse into the life of Gosselin and her children after the end of their original TLC series “Jon & Kate Plus 8.” It will follow Gosselin as she preps for a celebration in honor of her sextuplets 10th birthday.

Known for her hot-tempered personality, which was often displayed on “John & Kate,” Gosselin remains characteristically short and direct with her children on the new show.

In the first clip released from the special, Gosselin becomes upset with her 13-year-old daughter Mady after announcing the family’s spring break plans. Mady gives her opinion about the plans, but Kate brushes her off, causing the teen to leave the room yelling, “I didn’t do anything! You never trust me!”

In response to Mady’s outburst, Gosselin tells her daughter to come back in the room and lets her know that she doesn’t appreciate her attitude. “Interrupting me and saying, ‘No, we’re not,’ is something! I will give you one chance, this moment, to apologize, change your attitude and come back and that’s your last redemption,” Gosselin says.

Mady returns from her room and yells an apology at her mom, to which Kate replies, “Without stomping and shaking me when you walk by.” She then takes the teen's cellphone, telling the TLC cameras that she purchased phones for Mady and her other daughter Cara so she could “take them away.”

“We’ve all been through a lot … the kids are getting older and smarter and giving me a run for my money,” Kate says during the the show. “I’m getting older, tired-er, more worn out.”

Since the end of their first reality show, Kate Gosselin has divorced the husband of her eight children, John Gosselin. She has also used her reality-show fame to land numerous television appearances and even a spot on ABC’s hit show “Dancing with the Stars.”

In January, Gosselin faced a great deal of backlash after she became visibly annoyed with her daughters when they shut down during an interview on the “Today” show.

When interviewer Samantha Guthrie attempted to question the girls about growing up since their show’s end, they continually refused to answer her questions and even glared at their mother until she fed them lines to say.

“Mady, your words,” Kate said. “It’s your chance. spit it out." Mady still said nothing after the verbal nudge from her mother, leading an embarrassed Kate to explain that it was "the most wordless I’ve heard them all morning.”

“I don’t want to speak for them but, Mady, go ahead,” Kate said. She then went as far as to tell her daughter to echo her statements from their January 2014 interview with People. “Sort of the things that you said in the magazine … that years later they’re good, they’re fine. … Go for it, it’s your chance.” At that point, Mady rediscovered enough of her voice to tell her mother: “No, you just said it.”
