Kate Middleton and Prince William have sent out thank you cards to fans who wished and sent gifts for their daughter Princess Charlotte on her first birthday in May. The card featured a portrait of the royal tot wearing a pink dress, which was taken by Kate and released to coincide with her birthday on May 2.

It was shared by a royal fan on Twitter.

Jess Ilse from Halifax said her card arrived in the post Tuesday. The front of the card shows Charlotte in a pink and white floral dress with a pink cardigan looking up, her hand resting on a “Wheels on the Bus” children’s book.

The back of the card had a message from parents Kate and William. “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are most grateful for the very kind message you sent to Princess Charlotte on the occasion of her first birthday. It was really thoughtful of you and greatly appreciated,” it read.

The royal fan was very excited and shared her happiness with Hello. She said when she opened her mailbox, she was very excited to see Queen Elizabeth’s cipher on the envelope, and could not wait to open it and look at the contents. Jess added that she loved the picture of Charlotte and would hang it on the wall with other cards she has received from the royals.

Jess is a big fan of royalty and has received cards from the family several times before. She said she sent cards to Kate and William on several occasions and received replies from them regularly. She added that her birthday card for Charlotte had a small cupcake on the cover and a note wishing her the happiest of birthdays.

The thanks you cards for Charlotte’s birthday were sent just a week after the couple sent out their own thank you cards to those who congratulated them on their fifth wedding anniversary.
