Kate Middleton and Prince William expressed their gratitude to those who sent well-wishes to their only daughter Princess Charlotte on her seventh birthday with a sweet card.

Royal fan @KatsRoyalLetters shared via Instagram the reply she received from Kensington Palace after she sent a birthday greeting to Princess Charlotte, who turned 7 on May 2.

"Thank you for the kind birthday message which you sent for Princess Charlotte's seventh birthday," read the note from the future king and queen consort, according to People. "Princess Charlotte had a lovely day and your message was greatly appreciated by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge who send you their very best wishes."

The card included one of Princess Charlotte's three birthday photos, which were taken by Middleton.

The portraits were first shared via Prince William and Middleton's official Instagram and Twitter accounts on their daughter's birthday back in May.

In the photos, Princess Charlotte grins as she poses in a field of bluebells near Anmer Hall, their family's country home in Norfolk, England. One snap showed the young royal hugging their cocker spaniel Orla, who was adopted by the Cambridges in late 2020 after the death of their beloved pup Lupo.

Princess Charlotte reportedly had two separate birthday parties this year. She celebrated her actual birthday with her family and grandparents on her mother's side at Anmer Hall.

"Kate made all the food herself — mini pizzas, burgers, sausage rolls, hot dogs, fruit wands, sandwiches, multi-colored cupcakes and ice cream for everyone to tuck into," an anonymous source told Us Weekly in May.

According to the insider, Prince William and Middleton made their daughter's birthday "extra special" this year giving her the gift she's "wanted more than anything": a pony. The young royal also received a scooter and trainers from her parents, while her siblings Prince George, 8, and Prince Louis, 3, surprised their sister with outdoor games such as huge Connect Four and Jenga sets.

Princess Charlotte held a second party at Kensington Palace in London with her friends from school, the source said. It was reportedly her first birthday celebration with her pals.

Earlier this month, Princess Charlotte joined the duke and duchess at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England, which marked her first solo engagement with her parents. At one point, she was photographed smiling while giving her father a thumbs up.
