In honor of HRH Prince George’s approaching first birthday July 22, the British royal family, junior division, graced the August 2014 cover of Vanity Fair. Unfortunately for the young royal, the news of his parents' plans to add another baby to their brood is stealing his spotlight.

According to the magazine’s royal correspondent Katie Nicholl, “royal insiders” claim the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton and Prince William, both 32, will try for a second baby. “As for speculation about when Prince George will have a sibling … there are rumors among the couple’s friends that they plan to try this summer,” reads the report.

Despite the couple wanting another child, Nicholl reports that they are completely dedicated to raising their first born, Prince George, the third-in-line to the throne. “William and Kate want George to enjoy a normal upbringing,” reported the magazine.

Middleton is so invested in giving her son a normal life she brings the future king on play dates with her childhood pals' offspring. "They take George to play dates at the homes of friends, among them Kate’s old Marlborough friend Alice St. John Webster, who has a baby several months older than George."

Vanity Fair’s report comes on the heels of multiple rumors that Middleton is either with child or preparing to expand her family.

Contradicting OK! Magazine’s report in May that the duchess was pregnant with twin girls, InTouch Weekly published claims in their July 7 print issue that Middleton is two months along with just one baby.

“Everyone in their inner circle is whispering that they’re pregnant,” said a source. “They want another boy. Having two sons close in age like William and Prince Harry would be a dream come true.”

The August 2014 issue of Vanity Fair is available for digital download Thursday. The issue hits newsstands July 15.
